Abel Vecino is Head of Illicit Trade Prevention for Southwest Europe at Philip Morris International, leading efforts across Spain, Portugal, and Italy to combat illicit trade, protect consumers, and safeguard brand integrity. With more than 25 years of experience in security, investigations, risk management, and compliance, he previously served in senior leadership positions with the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, including as Legal Attache at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid. Throughout his career, he has led international investigations, intelligence programs, and cross-border partnerships focused on fraud, cybercrime, illicit activity, and organizational resilience. A Certified Fraud Examiner, Abel holds advanced degrees in international security, business administration, and accounting. Abel has been recognized for his contributions to international law enforcement cooperation.
