Head of Science Operations
Clio Boura is Head of Science Operations at BAT, responsible for driving strategic planning, operational excellence, capability development, portfolio governance, and organisational transformation across global Research and Science. She is an experienced R&D and operations leader with a proven track record of building high-performing teams and delivering innovation, capability growth, and business transformation within multinational consumer goods and healthcare organisations.

Prior to joining BAT, Clio held a range of regional and global research and development roles across L'Oréal, Unilever, Kimberly-Clark, and GSK/Haleon. Throughout her career, she has led product development, packaging innovation, consumer-centric design, technology development and organisational effectiveness teams translating scientific and technical capability into commercial value and sustainable growth.

Clio holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and an MPhil in Management Studies from the University of Cambridge, UK. Combining technical expertise with strategic business leadership, she brings a unique perspective on how organisations can harness science, technology, and talent to navigate changing consumer expectations, evolving regulation, and increasingly competitive innovation landscapes.
