Libby is the Scientific Substantiation and Engagement Lead at Imperial Brands where she leads teams specialising in Alternatives to Animal Testing, Clinical and Behavioural Science, and Scientific Surveillance. Together, these teams generate and evaluate evidence to support the tobacco harm reduction potential of Imperial Brands’ next generation products.
Libby holds an honours degree in Pharmacology from the University of Edinburgh and a master’s degree in Forensic Science from King’s College London. She began her career in 2010 as forensic toxicologist and expert witness before joining Imperial in 2014 as a Premarket Stewardship Toxicologist. Her career within the nicotine industry has encompassed quantitative toxicological risk assessment, scientific surveillance and the leadership of non-clinical workstreams to support market entry for nicotine products. These experiences have reinforced a central theme in her work: the importance of data-driven, evidence-based communication of complex science.
