Chris Allen is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Broughton. Since co-founding the company in 2006, he has led its growth into a specialist provider of analytical and regulatory services for pharmaceuticals, medical devices and reduced-risk nicotine products.
· Over 25 years’ experience in analytical and regulatory science across inhaled and solid dose pharmaceuticals, medical devices and nicotine products
· Extensive experience working with global regulatory agencies, including the FDA and MHRA
· Leads Broughton’s strategic direction, with a focus on developing services and teams that help bring life-enhancing products to market

With a background in Chemistry and Analytical Science, Chris has held senior roles across pharmaceutical, medical device and CRO organisations. His experience spans product development, marketing authorisations, GMP inspections and regulatory submissions across UK, EU, US and other global markets.
At Broughton, Chris has overseen major milestones including MHRA GMP approval, support for the first UK medicinal licence for an electronic cigarette, expansion into reduced-risk tobacco products, and investment in new facilities, equipment and services.
Today, Chris is recognised as a subject matter expert in the science and regulation of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and nicotine products, and remains focused on helping clients accelerate life-enhancing products to market.
